Oxymorons

Hello People Roaming the Internet,

I read a book early this year (don't remember the title though) and it was about puns, palindromes, oxymorons, etc. That was the first time I had heard the word oxymorons. An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms I searched the Internet and found some funny examples.

  • Detailed Summary
  • Pretty Ugly
  • Veggie Meatballs
  • Dry Lake
  • Free Gift
  • Act Naturally
  • Small Crowd
  • Found Missing
  • New Classic
  • Twelve Ounce Pound Cake!!!!
  • Almost Done

Those are just a few examples. There are so many more oxymorons and once in a while, in your writing piece throw in an oxymoron.

Good one, Suchi. It is an "open secret" and is "bitter-sweet" reality how inadvertently we use oxymorons, which was initially considered errors in conversations but now become interesting form of speech :)

ps: still waiting for your stories!

Suchi, what an interesting topic to read about. Oxymorons make for a good laugh. I also enjoyed your story about being the teacher. You have really blossomed into a great writer! Enjoy your last year at Forest Park and come visit Room 206 sometime before the end of the school year. Say hi to your mom for me.
